Kings war plans (Luke 14:31-33) | back
31Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? What king would go to war without first sitting down with his counselors and discussing whether his army of 10,000 is strong enough to defeat the 20.,000 men marching against him.
32Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace. If the decision is negative, then while the enemy troops are still far away, he will send a truce team to discuss terms of peace. Know what you are up against and prepare yourself for a hard road ahead. But, also know that Christ is with you when you follow Him!
33So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. So, no one can become my disciple, unless he first sits down and counts his blessings; and then renounces them all for me. We must always put Christ first and do it His way!
