Sheep and goats (Matthew 25:31-46) | back

When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: When the Messiah sits upon His throne at the second advent. The watchmen and those who remain working in the field are making it ready for His return.

And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: This word nations here is "Ethnos" Strong's #1484 in the Greek, meaning non-Jewish or the Gentile people.

And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Make note that the sheep are on the right, as Christ sits on the right hand of God, and the goats are on the left. This should be a clue that you always want to fish from the right side of the boat.

Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: The sheep, or those on the right will enter into the Kingdom of God. The Heavenly Father had the plan right from the beginning.

For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: I was hungry and you fed me. (Fed me the truth of God's Word). I was thirsty and you gave me water. (The living water of Christ for He is that living water). I was a stranger and you took me in your home. (Gave me that place of rest which we find in Christ).

Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Naked and you clothed me. (Clothed with the Gospel Armor of God). Sick and in prison, and you visited me. (Sick and imprisoned to false teachings and traditions of men and this world). Now the truth will set you free!

Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? The righteous ones reply, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink?

When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or a stranger, and help you? Or naked and cloth you?

Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? When did we see you sick or in prison, and visit you?

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. When you did any of these things to my brothers or to the lost, you were doing it to me. We are all one family. When you give a person a truth they can count on, or plant a good seed for the Heavenly Father to make it grow, we are pleasing to Him and will receive the blessings He has promised.

Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: Here we have those on of the left side. (The socialists). Away with you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons. These are the ones who will not obey God! Keep in mind that this is for the ones after the millennium. (The thousand year reign and teachings with Christ). Those who will all have the chance to learn the truth, but will still reject the Word of God.

For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: They had the knowledge, but would not share it.

I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Pushed me aside and did not care, leaving me imprisoned to the world.

Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? When did we see these things? To busy with making money and things of the world that they never have time for any one or any thing else.

Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. When you refused to help the least of these my brothers, or lost ones, you were refusing to help me.

And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. These ones shall go away into eternal punishment; but the righteous into everlasting life.
