The Son of God (John 10:22-42) | back

And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter. It was winter and Jesus was in Jerusalem at the time of the dedication.

And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch. Jesus was at the Temple, walking through a section of the Temple know as Solomon's hall.

Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. The Jewish leaders surrounded Jesus and asked Him; "How long are you going to keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, just tell us."

Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. I have told you Jesus replied, and you do not believe Me; The proof is in the miracles I do in the name of My Father.

But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. You don't believe Me because you are not part of My flock.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. My sheep hear the truth of My voice and they follow Me. I know who they are!

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. I give them eternal life, and they shall never parish. No one can snatch them away from Me! (Their is no substitute for the Word).

My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. My Father has given them to Me, and He is more powerful than anyone else; so no one can snatch them from My Fathers hand. (All those children of God before the foundation of the world).

I and my Father are one. I and My Father are one! This really upset many of them for that statement. (Emanuel, God with us was right here and performing the miracles to prove it).

Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. Then again the Jews picked up stones to kill Him!

Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? "I have done many miracles under the direction of the Father to help the people; which one are you killing Me for?

The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. The Jews answered Him and said; We don't stone you for good works, but for blasphemy. You are a mere man and have declared yourself to be God!

Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? It is written in your own law that men are gods. Jesus replied. (Psalm 82:6).

If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken. If the scripture speaks (which cannot be untrue), of those as gods that the message of God came from. (We are all children of God, but Christ is the only begotten Son).

Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? You call it blasphemy when the one sanctified and sent into the world by the Father says, "I am the Son of God!"

If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. Don't believe Me unless I do the miracles of God. (Christ would perform all the miracles in scripture).

But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him. But if I do the miracles of God; believe in the miracles even if you do not believe Me. "Then you will be convinced that the Father and I are one." (No man could do the miracles that Christ performed).

Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand. Once again they tried to arrest Him, but He walked away and left them. (It wasn't His time yet; once again it was divine intervention)!

And went away again beyond Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and there he abode. Jesus went beyond the Jordan river to stay near the place where John the Baptist was first baptizing.

And many resorted unto him, and said, John did no miracle: but all things that John spake of this man were true. The people followed Him and remarked to one another; John did no miracles, but everything he said about Christ has come true.

And many believed on him there. Many came to the decision that He was the Messiah! (This was the start of His ministry).
