Jesus meets Nicodemus (John 3:1-21) | back
There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man Nicodemus (Conqueror of the people), was a Jewish religious leader who was of the sect of the Pharisees, came to interview Jesus.
The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. He came to Jesus at night and said to Jesus; we all know that God has sent you to teach us. "Your miracles are proof enough of this." The miracles drew him near to Christ.
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Born again here means "born form above" from the beginning, (Greek dictionary 509). Born from above means that you come from Heaven and are born through woman. The "Fallen Angels" from the Noah flood refused to be born of woman. They left their habitation (Heaven), and came down to earth and seduced woman. They are reserved in chains till judgment day. (Jude 1:5-6). Read our study topic titled "The Fallen Angels."
Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? How can this be Nicodemus asked Jesus? How can a man enter the womb a second time and be born again? He was thinking flesh, not spirit.
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Unless one is born of the water, and the spirit, one cannot enter the Kingdom of God. (This is not baptism, but the water in the womb).
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Flesh cannot enter into the Kingdom of God! (I Corinthians 15:50). Only the spiritual body can enter the Kingdom of God.
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. Don't be surprised at my statement, you must be born again. (Born innocent from above).
The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. The spirit body is in a different dimension. You cannot see one in the spirit body until you die and enter your spiritual body.
Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? What do you mean Nicodemus asked?
Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? You are a respected Jewish teacher who sits in the seat of Moses and you do not understand these things?
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. We know that John as well as the other prophets were sent and you did not believe them. I told you and you do not believe me!
If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? If you cannot believe these earthly things that I tell you about, how can I explain Heavenly things.
And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. Even as I, "The Son of Man," came down from Heaven first before I can return to Heaven. You need to come from Heaven first, before you return Heaven. Born from above! You must be absent from this body to be present with the Lord. (II Corinthians 5:7-8).
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up. Talking about (Numbers 21:7), when the people were complaining to Moses.
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. Those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, would have eternal life.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. The most important scripture in the bible. Everlasting life means past and future. From the beginning of time forever. (We will have total recall in our spiritual bodies).
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. Christ was not sent to condemn the world; but to save it. Anyone who chooses salvation by believing upon Him!
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. There is no eternal doom to those who believe in Jesus. But, those who do not have already been condemned. Do you believe in the Messiah? The choice is yours!
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. Their sentence is based on this fact: The light came into the world from Heaven, but they loved the darkness more than the light, because their deeds were evil. This word deeds is your works, and it is only your works that are written in the book of life, that follow you to Heaven. (Revelation 14:13).
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. They hated the light because they wanted to sin in the darkness. They stayed away from the light for fear that their sins would be exposed and they would be punished. You can't con God!
But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. Those who are doing right come gladly to the light to let everyone see that they are doing what God wants them to do. His works! God will always bless you for your good deeds.
