The second coming (Luke 17:20-37) | back

20And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation. The Pharisees (those who believed in the resurrection), asked Jesus; when will the Kingdom of God begin? Jesus replied, "The Kingdom of God isn't ushered in with visible signs.

21Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. You won't be able to say, "it has begun here in this place or there in that part of the country." The Kingdom of God is within you!

22And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it. Christ talked to the disciples about this later. The time is coming when you will long for me to be with you, but I will not be there.

23And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them. You will by some that I have returned over here or over there; don't believe it or go to look for me.

24For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day. You will know when I return with no doubt. It will be as the lightning flashes across the sky.

25But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation. First I must suffer terrible things, and be rejected by this whole nation.

26And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. When I return the whole world will be indifferent to the things of God, just as the people were in Noah's day.

27They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. So what exactly were they doing in Noah's day that caused the flood to come?

And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. (Genesis 6:1,2). Beings from the spirit world (Nephilim) the fallen angels, looked upon the beautiful woman and took any they desired to be their wives.

There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the fallen sons of God (Nephilim), came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men, which were of old, men of renown. (Genesis 6:4). In those days, when the fallen angels (Nephilim) were sexually involved with human women, their children became giants, (Gibbor in the Hebrew language) of whom so many legends are told.

And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (Genesis 6:5). When God seen the perversion among the nephilim and among men, he was sorry he had made them.

And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. (Genesis 6:7). God would destroy man along with the gibbor, in order to preserve the human race that the fallen angels tried to pollute.

28Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded. It will be as in the days of Lot; people in their daily business were partying and drinking, buying and selling, farming and building.

29But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. The day Lot left Sadom, the fire and brimstone destroyed them all.

30Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. Even today it will be business as usual, right up to the hour of Christ's return.

31In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back. In that day of my return; those away from home should not return to pack, and those in the field working should not return to town.

32Remember Lot's wife. Remember what happened to Lot's wife when she looked back upon the town.

33Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it. Those who do not trust in Christ and try to save their lives shall lose it. Those who trust in Christ and lose their life for Him shall be saved and have eternal life.

34I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. That night two men shall be in the same room, and one will be taken away, the other left.

35Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be in the house together doing chores, one shall be taken, and the other left behind.

36Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. The same will be for two men working in the field. One will be taken and the other left behind. Taken by the antichrist (being deceived), who appears before the return of the true Christ.

37And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together. The disciples asked Jesus where they will be taken? Jesus replied; Where the body lies the "eagles" gather together. This word "eagles" in the Greek is "Aetos" meaning (from its wind like flight). Eagle should be translated "vultures." Vultures gather where there is death, and Satan is death. They will be taken to where the Anti-Christ gathers his followers. DO NOT BE DECEIVED!
