Can
America Stand

When the Christian exiles first fled to America, they would seek out an asylum
from royal oppression and priestly intolerance. They were determined to
establish a government based upon civil and religious liberty. The Declaration
of Independence sets forth a great truth that "all men are created equal” to
furnish an institution with the inalienable right to "life, liberty, and the
pursuit of happiness." The Constitution guarantees to the people the right of
self-government, providing that representatives elected by the popular vote
shall enact and administer those laws of liberty. (Isaiah 61:1).
Freedom of religious faith
was granted and every man was being permitted to worship God according to the
expression of his conscience. Republicanism and Protestantism became the
fundamental principles of the nation. These principles are the secret of its
power and prosperity. The oppressed throughout history have turned to this land
with interest and hope. Millions have cast about its shores, and the United
States has risen to the most powerful nation of the earth.
America is
mentioned in the bible in several places, but I believe one of the best places
in the bible is Isaiah chapter 18. Particularly Isaiah 18:7 where it says: The
time will come when that strong and mighty nation, which is a terror to all both
far and near, that conquering, destroying nation whose land the rivers divide,
will bring forth gifts to the Lord of Hosts in Jerusalem, where He has placed
His name. Yes, we are the most powerful nation in the world, but something is
going terribly wrong. We need to take America back from it’s ungodly ways and
get back to the biblical way of life. Our Heavenly Father warns us what will
happen when we turn everything upside down and revert to evil ways. (Isaiah
5:20). Below are some of Americas greatest downfalls and our Heavenly Father is
not happy. We get a little down and dirty and to the point, so if you can’t
handle the truth, I suggest you click off this news letter topic now.
The United States
has the highest incarceration rate in the world and the largest total prison
population on the entire globe. (Ezra 7:26, Matthew 25:46, Luke 23:19, Acts
5:18, Acts 12:4). They did not have this problem in old testament times because
the laws were carried out. No lawyers to pull fancy tricks to confuse jurors. If
you committed criminal homicide you were put to death!
The United States has the highest percentage of obese people in the world.
(Proverbs 23:2, 23:19-21, 30:8, 1 Corinthians 6:13). People in the old testament lived longer
because they were more healthy. You didn’t see two thirds of the population in
an obese condition. The biggest problem with people today is portion size.
Everything is super sized, and the result is super sized people.
The United States has the highest divorce rate in the world. (Genesis 2:24,
Exodus 20:14, Leviticus 20:10, Deuteronomy 24:1, Jeremiah 3:8, Matthew 5:31-32,
19:5-10). There was divorce in biblical days, but it wasn’t like today. Now days
it seems everyone is married and divorced two, three, or more times without
blinking an eye. There is no respect or dedication towards spouses anymore.
The United States leads for the most hours of television watched per
person each week. (Romans 1:28-32, Daniel 12:4). A bunch of couch potatoes
polluting their brains with hours upon hours of junk on the tube. "Not to
mention computer and smart phone use."
The United States has the highest rate of illegal drug use on the entire
planet. (Matthew 6:24, Luke 16:13, Titus 2:2, 2:6, 1 Corinthians 6:19, 1 Peter
1:13, 4:7, 5:8, Revelation 21:8, 22:15). This simply narrows down to greed and
corruption from dealers in the streets, gangs, business men, police departments,
the military, and public officials. This illegal drug corruption covers the full
spectrum from the drug cartels and governments in countries around the world,
and we can’t get a hold on it. But don’t worry, God will very soon!
There are more capital crimes reported such as rapes, murders, car thefts etc.
in the United States each year than anywhere else in the world. This is why we
have more police officers than anywhere else in the world. (Leviticus 20, Isaiah
59:14). It seems that the criminals go free and the innocent pay the price.
Again, if one commits a murder or rape, they should be publicly executed, and
then you will have less crime. Just as they did in biblical times.
The United States spends much more on health care than any other nation on the
face of the earth. And there are more people on pharmaceutical drugs than any
other country on the planet. The percentage of women taking antidepressants in
America is higher than in any other country in the world. (1 Timothy 5:8, 2
Thessalonians 3:10). Another area where people abuse the system. Free medical
care to those who refuse to work while hard working people go without health
care. More than fifty percent of people on social security disability are
not even disabled, while once again they abuse the system. (And we let them get
away with it)! I am not talking about people who are really disabled and need
disability, I am talking about the scammers. You know who they are. As for the pharmaceutical drugs, the doctors are becoming legal
drug dealers. Handing out pain killers and antidepressants like they were candy.
“It’s all about the money.”
More pornography is created in the United States than anywhere else on the
entire globe. 89 percent is made in the U.S.A. and only 11 percent is made in
the rest of the world. (Matthew 5:28, Romans 6:12, 1 Corinthians 6:9, 6:18-20, 2 Corinthians 10:3, Ephesians 4:19,
1 Thessalonians 4:3, 1 John 2:16). Where
does all this come from? Well, take a look how mothers today raise their
daughters and let them dress like harlots when they are still children. Who do
you think will end up in the porn movies? Why do you think there are so many
kidnappings and rapes? You better get a grip on your young teens and let them
grow up as children and quit trying to make them adults at such a young age. And
you fathers need to teach your sons to respect women and not to look at them as
sex objects, or just a piece of meat. Get tough and quit raising a bunch of
spoiled little wimps!
The United States has the largest trade deficit in the world every single
year. Between December 2000 and December 2010, the United States ran a total
trade deficit of 6.1 trillion dollars with the rest of the world, and the U.S.
has had a negative trade balance every single year since 1976. (Luke 12:56). In
may 2011, the oil imports drove deficit up $50.2 billion alone as the price of
oil continues to rise proportionally to the unrest in Libya. As of March 2011
gold is climbing up over $1,400 as the U.S. dollar is dropping. Balanced people
contemplate rising unemployment and even food riots in the United States future.
The United States spends 7 times more on the military than any other nation on
the planet does. In fact, U.S. military spending is greater than the military
spending of China, Russia, Japan, India, and the rest of NATO combined. (Isaiah
18:1, 18:7). Every year the pentagon and military are telling us that more is
needed for security and that we are not safe. If you are spending more on the
military and intelligence than all the rest of the world combined and we still
feel unsafe, then a new policy should be sought.
The U.S. has accumulated the biggest national debt that the world has ever
seen and it is rapidly getting worse. U.S. government debt is expanding at a
rate of $40,000 per second. (Deuteronomy 28:12). We need to cut wasteful
spending and get our national debt under control. We can’t just keep giving
money away and investing in programs that do not work just to please those who
abuse the system and do not want to give back. It is not fair to those who work
hard in this country and pay their taxes, while others are just living off the
system.
Am I getting down on
America and it’s people? Well, maybe a little, but I would call it more of a
wake up call. There are many good people in America that work hard and hold to
good Christian values that this mighty country was built on. There are many good
people in America that are not even Christian, but still cling to good values.
Many have died fighting for this country, “it’s freedom of liberty” and good
values. But we must realize that we are at the peak of spiritual warfare and
there is a war going on between good and evil like never before. (Ephesians
6:12). Can America stand? Well, I can tell you this. There is a famine in the
land and it’s knocking at our front door as we speak. “Not a famine for food or
thirst, but a famine for hearing the Word of the Lord.” (Amos 8:11). Wake up
people of America, we are still the most powerful nation in the world, but lets
not lose it. “Stand up people of America, having your loins girt about with
truth, and put on the whole armor of God.” (Ephesians 6:13-17). We need to get
back to the bible, "back to the Word of God."click here to return to topics
