We are approaching that time when we need to understand what is about to take place in the near future. Here is a brief overview of the end time events in prophecy. What should we expect when the seventh trump sounds and Jesus Christ returns in the glory and power of His dominion. There are eight major events that will happen in the end times that we will discuss. Keep in mind that the number eight denotes new beginnings. Also, that this is after the tribulation of anti-Christ that takes place first. With that being said, we will begin our study in the old testament book of Daniel.
First of the eight events after the tribulation of anti-Christ, is the return of the true Christ. I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. (Daniel 7:13). Son of Man, Jesus Christ, coming with the clouds of Heaven. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed. (Daniel 7:14). Given ruling power over all nations of the world. "King of Kings and Lord of Lords." Established on mount Zion, one of God's favorite places.
Lets go to the book of Zechariah to read more about these nations. Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. (Zechariah 14:1). The day of the Lord, referring to Jerusalem in the end times when Christ returns. (Isaiah 2:11-12, 13:6). For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. (Zechariah 14:2). The nations will fight against Jerusalem. Referring to the yet future and final siege on Jerusalem. The remnant of the people shall not be cut off. (Zechariah 13:8-9, Matthew 24:22). Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. (Zechariah 14:3). The Lord will fight against those nations that come against Jerusalem. (Isaiah 63:1-6, Revelations 19:11-16). And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. (Zechariah 14:4). When Christ returns at the second advent His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem. The Mount of Olives will split into two parts, making a wide valley. I believe this could be referring to "The valley of decision." (Joel 3:12-14).
Now we will go to the new testament book of Revelation to continue our study. And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. (Revelation 11:15). The seventh and final trump, the return of Christ, and the time we put on our spiritual bodies. "Remember we have a flesh body and a spirit body." (1 Corinthians 15:44). The Lord and His anointed shall now rule the world from this day to eternity. And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, (Revelation 11:16). These are said to be by many scholars the 12 Patriarchs and 12 disciples, but we will not know till that time. Saying, We give thee thanks, O LORD God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned. (Revelation 11:17). From the beginning, till the end times, and forever. Now we covered the return of Christ, so lets move on to the next of the eight events that will take place.
The second of the eight events is the resurrected saints. We will begin in the new testament book of Matthew. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (Matthew 24:31). The angels shall gather the elect, the chosen ones, from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven. Again, this will take place at the seventh trump when the true Christ returns. The four winds are the four spirits that will bring this dispensation to an end. The same winds spoken of in (Revelation 7 & Daniel 7).
Lets go to the book of Corinthians and see what the apostle Paul has to say. Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. (1 Corinthians 15:50). It is a different dimension. We would not survive God's presence in these physical bodies. You can’t enter the Kingdom of God with an earthly body. "It is a transition." Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, (1 Corinthians 15:51). The secret Paul is revealing here is that; we may not all die and experience physical death, but we will all be transformed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. (1 Corinthians 15:52). The last trump "the seventh trump." (Revelation 8:2). We will be raised to live forever. (Revelation 11:15).
Now lets go to the book of Thessalonians for a better understanding about the resurrection of the saints and those already dead. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. (1 Thessalonians 4:15). Those who are alive when the Lord returns will not prevent or precede, those who are dead because the dead are already there with the Lord. Read our study topic: Where are the dead. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: (1 Thessalonians 4:16). At the last trump, 7th trump, the dead in Christ would of risen first because they are already there. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. (1 Thessalonians 4:17). As "gathered like a cloud" used as a statement, or "like a cloud of locust" or "cloud of witnesses." (Hebrews 12:1). Now as for the ones which are alive to meet the Lord in the air; We must go back to the original Greek to translate air which is Aer = Breathe, Strong's 109 Greek Dictionary prime from Psucho = To Breathe, 5594 prime from Psuche = Breath or Spirit, 5590 prime from Pneuma = Spirit or Breath of Life, 4151. When Christ returns at the seventh trump, we will be changed into our Spirit bodies to meet him. This is not a rapture of the church! This is a gathering back to Christ in our spirit bodies right here on earth.
The third of the eight events is the Messiah's 1,000 year reign in the millennium. We can read about it in (Psalms 97, 98, 99), and more places in the old testament such as the book of (Isaiah 2:1-4, 11:6-9, 35:1-10, and Micah 4:1-5). All will be well as we walk in the name of the Lord. But what takes place before this 1,000 year reign with Christ. Lets go to the book of Revelation. And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. (Revelation 20:1). This is not a physical chain, but a spiritual chain that Satan will be bound by. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years. (Revelation 20:2). All the roles of Satan shall be bound. Remember that Satan is a play actor and a fake with many rolls that he plays throughout the bible. And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. (Revelation 20:3). This is a full proof seal from almighty God. Satan's evil spirit is locked up so that he cannot fool the nations any more until the thousand years are finished. But, then he must be loosed for a short period of time. Why? To test those who never new the truth before. There will be many at this time of the millennium, 1,000 years of teaching, who never had a chance to know God's Word, and also those who have been deceived in God's Word most of their lives. Many have already overcome and were chosen before the foundation of the world in the first earth age. (Ephesians 1:4, 2 Peter 3:5-10).
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. (Revelation 20:4). These are the souls who had overcame Satan's lies and deceptions and many died for their testimony of Christ. These are the ones who will teach with Christ in the millennium. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. (Revelation 20:5). The rest of the dead did not come back to life until the thousand years have ended. We are speaking of the spiritually dead! Some take part in the first resurrection, and some don't take part till the second resurrection after being tested by Satan.
The forth of the eight events is when the saints rule the world with Christ. Written in (Psalms 149:4-9), the saints judge, (Daniel 7:22-27), the saints posses the kingdom, (Matthew 19:28), judging the twelve tribes of Israel. "They will be priests of God." Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. (Revelation 20:6). Blessed are those who take part in the first resurrection, because the second death cannot effect them. What is the second death? The death of the soul! (Matthew 10:28), Those taking part in the first resurrection will be priests of God that teach the spiritual dead.
The fifth of the eight events is when Satan and his angels (2 Peter 2:4), are released for a short time after being bound 1,000 years and incite rebellion. And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, (Revelation 20:7). Satan will be loosed for a short time to test those who were spiritually dead. And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. (Revelation 20:8). Satan will go out to deceive the nations of the world once again, gathered from the east to the west and the four corners of the earth. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. (Revelation 20:9). God fights this battle; remember that God is a consuming fire! And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. (Revelation 20:10). All the roles of Satan are gone. Satan is turned to ashes forever. Blotted out!
The sixth of the eight events is the "Great white throne judgment." (Isaiah 25:7-8), death is swallowed up in victory. And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. (Revelation 20:11). "The white throne judgment." The presents of the full God head. Yahveh Shamah, God is there! And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. (Revelation 20:12). Talking again of the spiritual dead. Those who were never taught the truth. They will be judged according to their works, good deeds, not by their faith. This only applies to those in the second resurrection. Judged by the book of life!
The seventh of the eight events is what happens to the unrepentant dead? And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. (John 5:29). Those who have done good will rise to experience eternal life, and those who have continued to do evil will rise to experience judgment. But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. (2 Peter 3:7-12). By the same Word, the present Heavens and Earth have been stored up for fire. They are being kept for judgment day, when the ungodly people will be destroyed. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. (Revelation 20:13). Again; the sea or waters represents the people who give up the spiritually dead. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. (Revelation 20:14). The second death is the death of the soul. (Matthew 10:28). Blotted out forever! And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:15). Are you in the book of life? Remember that all who are not in the book of life will be blotted out for ever and death will be swallowed up in victory.
Now we come to the eighth and most important event in which we will see a "Glorious new heaven and earth." Lets go back to the old testament book of Isaiah. For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. (Isaiah 65:17). We will have no account of present world age. But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. (Isaiah 65:18). A new Jerusalem! Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. (2 Peter 3:13). We look forward to the new heaven and earth as He promised, with a world filled with God's righteousness.
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. (Revelation 21:1). We are speaking literally here of the heavens, earth and sea. The oceans are all dried-up, back to like it was in the first earth age. The earth is put back into it's original order. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. (Revelation 21:2). The new city is the new government of the full God Head. Yahveh Shamma! God with us or God is there. The last verse in the book of Ezekiel in English language. The Lord is there! (Ezekiel 48:35). And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. (Revelation 21:3). He will dwell here with men. In Hebrew; The Shekinah Glory! Shekinah meaning "He caused to dwell." And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. (Revelation 21:4). No more pain because all is destroyed including hell. "GONE" The second death! And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. (Revelation 21:5). "It is going to be an awesome time." His Word is trustworthy and true and you can count on it going down just as it is written.
Keep The Faith,Barton
