Is As Evil Does
When we speak of evil we usually refer to a person rather than an action. We all have a little evil in us, but it is our actions that defines if we are an evil person or not. Hence the saying, "Evil is as evil does." Evil is anythig contrary to the holy character of God. "Good can exist without evil, whereas evil cannot exist without good." Why is there evil? There is evil in the world today where you and I must live. God allows evil out of His patience and grace, waiting for us to repent. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9). The Lord is not being slow about His return and promise of eternal life, He is just being patient for our sake. His will is that everyone come to repentance and no one should perish. He wants everyone to believe in Him, "He just wants our love." (Hosea 6:6).
Where did this evil in men come from? Gen 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (Genesis 6:5). God observed the wickedness of mankind and knew it was only evil.
For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: (Matthew 15:19). These evil thoughts and actions will get you into big trouble.
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. (John 3:19). Here's the facts about judgment: God's light (Jesus), came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, because their actions were evil. It's so easy in this world today to follow the majority and the ways of the world. (Romans 2:8, 1 Peter 2:8). God will pour out His wrath on those who live for themselves and refuse to obey the truth in the Word. Those who choose to live lives of wickedness and follow evil ways of the world. (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12). If you want to be ignorant of God's Word and follow lies, deception, and traditions of men; God will send you strong delusion to believe those lies. He will close your eyes to the truth. (Isaiah 29:10). Look at how people are so comfortable with their teachings. Comfortable with their spirit of slumber. (The Word can even become their stumbling block). When they play church and follow traditions of men they will not understand the truth of God's Word. (Christ can become a stumbling block to them). How can Christ become a stumbling block? Remember that the antichrist comes first and will deceive many into believing he is the real Christ. (He will be the stumbling block to those who follow him). God will also let you be deceived and believe a lie if you do not follow the truth of the Word. (2 Thessalonians 2:5-11).
Why is man so evil? Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness. (Galatians 5:19). When you follow your way of the flesh you produce evil results. Impure thoughts and eagerness for lustful pleasures and shameless acts. Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies. (Galatians 5:20). Idolatry, spiritism, hatred, fighting, jealousy, anger, constant effort to get the best for yourself, feeling that everyone else is wrong except those in your own little group. You can see this in many churches today who are suppose to be Christians. What we believe is right and everyone else is wrong. Wake up people; no one man, woman, church or ministry, has all the right answers. If they say that they do, they are lying to you and setting themselves up to be gods of their own cult. Only Jesus Christ and the Heavenly Father have all the answers. "All truth will be revealed at the proper time." Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:21). Envy, murder (Criminal homicide), drunkenness, partying all the time and never caring about God. Those who do these things all the time will not inherit the Kingdom of God. (Revelation 22:14-15).
Why does man follow evil? Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: (Ephesians 2:2). Following the crowds and were just like all the others, full of sin and obeying Satan, the prince of the power of the air. He is at work right now in the hearts of those who are against the Lord. Children here is translated the sons of Satan, the Kenites, or sons of Cain. (Cain being the son of Satan and the first murderer). This word "course" in the Greek Strong's G165 is "Aion, Eon" a time period, or since the world began. We have the children of disobedience in the "first earth age" the one third who followed Satan. We also have the children of disobedience with "the fallen angels." (Genesis 6:1-2). Read our study topics "Three earth ages" and "The fallen angels" for a better understanding. Remember, Satan's spirit is among us in this world and is constantly at work recruiting new followers. Do not be deceived!
Why is man's heart so evil? The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? (Jeremiah 17:9). The human heart is the most deceitful and wicked of all things. No one knows how bad it is! Don't trust in your own heart, trust in your wisdom from God. (Proverbs 28:26, Ecclesiastes 9:3). Now lets take a look at some scripture that speaks about evil doers. We begin in the old testament with wisdom from Isaiah, Yeshaʿyahu ("God Is Salvation"). Considered one of the greatest prophets in the bible. His main message was about the coming of Christ and events that take place in the end times.
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! (Isaiah 5:20). They say that evil is good and good is evil. Everyone wants to justify their wrong doings. (Proverbs 17:15). It's going on today my friend, it appears that the whole world has got it backwards. Even the priests, pastors, and teachers of the Word leave you in the dark (in bondage), instead of bringing you to the light (that sets you free). (2 Timothy 3:1-5, 2 Peter 2:1, 2:18-19).
For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail. (Isaiah 32:6). Speak foolishness and make plans of their evil. (Matthew 12:34-36). They practice ungodliness and spread false teachings. (Matthew 15:19). They leave the people hungry and thirsty for the truth. What is the famine of the end times? Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD. (Amos 8:11). That famine for hearing the Word of the Lord is upon us now. People are starving for the truth in the Word, not a bunch of fairy tales, false teachings and traditions of men that are taught in most churches today.
Everyone today wants things their way and not God's way. They would rather follow the ways of the world and it's evil ways. Evil is polluting our religious leaders, our government leaders, our business practices, and our communities. "We no longer fear the Lord; we mock Him." The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. (Proverbs 8:13). God does not like those with a big mouth that is just full of pride and arrogance, always spouting off about someone or something. (Do we know anyone like that)?
Today it is all about getting ahead at any cost with their evil desires of wealth. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. (1 Timothy 6:9). Desire for wealth will get you in trouble. (It can be more dangerous than wealth itself). People who long to be rich soon begin to do all kinds of things wrong to get money. They do not care how they get it, or who they hurt to get it. "They become rip-offs and scam artists."
For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (1 Timothy 6:10). The love of money and worldly wealth is the first step to all kinds of sin. Always worrying about money because they never have enough. Some have even turned away from God because of it, and because of it, they will have many sorrows.
For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth. (Psalm 37:9). Evil doers will be cut off in the end times. However, those true believers who hang in there and wait upon the Lord, will inherit the earth in the next world age.
As a believer we are always going to face evil, so it is important to be aware of evil in it's many forms. Abstain from all appearance of evil. (1 Thessalonians 5:22). "Stay away from evil things."
This is a spiritual war we are fighting today and we need to be prepared. Many are controlled by higher powers, "Evil is as Evil does." For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:12). We are not just fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers of the unseen world. Mighty satanic beings and great evil princes of darkness who rule this world; and against huge numbers of wicked spirits in the spirit world. (That is what makes people go bad)!
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (Ephesians 6:13). Man has no chance on his own, we need the Gospel Armour to withstand evil; especially the evil day when antichrist appears on the scene in real life.
Then soon after the reign of antichrist. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; (Matthew 13:41). Nothing evil will be left in the eternity. (All will be lost for Satan and his followers).
And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. (Matthew 13:42). All evil destroyed and will be as they never existed. A lot of people who thought they were on the road to heaven are going to be in for a surprise. The spiritually lazy, hypocrites, unbelievers, murderers, whoremongers, idolaters, liars etc. (Revelation 21:8).
Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. (Matthew 13:43). The Godly shall shine as the sun in their Fathers Kingdom. (Matthew 25:34, James 2:5). Do you have ears to hear and understand how important this is?
