Fear is a spiritual-warfare between you and the devil. Remember back in Matthew chapter 4, when Jesus was tempted by Satan after He was baptized? How did Jesus handle the situation? Well... First He went into the wilderness, fasted, meditated, and prayed to the Father. When the devil appeared to tempt Him, Jesus won the battle by confronting the devil with truth in the Word. We need to follow His example. We need to clear our minds of worldly things that are controlled by Satan. We need to meditate, pray, and fill our mind with truth in the Word of God. God will handle all your enemies. If you have knowledge and faith, God is on your side, and you get the victory.
Keep in mind that when you let fear creep into your life, you give an opening to the devil. (He's the enemy)! The devil is not only good at twisting scripture, but he can twist any worldly situation to benefit himself, and if not prepared, he will deceive you when your fearful and feeling down. You see... Much of our fear comes from exposure to the news, television, radio, and social media. Not to mention fear of economy inflation, stock market crashes, community safety, health care, etc. These are all worldly matters that have Satan's mark on them. In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (2 Corinthians 4:4). "Satan has blinded the minds of the unbeliever." Those who live by their worldly ways in fear.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:12). Satan controls this world and many of those who are sitting in high places. Yes, it's many of your political and religious leaders that are being controlled by spiritual wickedness and fear of what's to come. Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. (Luke 21:26). The courage of these leaders will falter because of the fearful fate they see coming upon the earth. "Never let fear get the better part of you!" The LORD is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1).
God does not want you to be fearful... For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7). Fear no man, woman, child, or entity. There is nothing to fear. Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the Lord means safety. (Proverbs 29:25). Do not be afraid of those who try to deceive, or cause harm to you. Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28). God is the only one to fear, because He can destroy your soul.
However, be watchful and aware because the devil is at work to deceive all he can. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. (2 Corinthians 11:14). Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. The devil will be cast to earth real soon and won't be in a red suit with a pitch-fork. He will be disguised as an angel of light to deceive the world. He doesn't sound so fearful... But, he is the author of fear, and fear is the enemy.
So, how do we control our fears? With the help of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. "It's called the Amour of God." This is where we get our strength to defeat fear and the devil. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (Ephesians 6:11). What is this full armor of God? Ephesians 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; Ephesians 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Ephesians 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: (Ephesians 6:14-17).
Hand all your fears over to the Heavenly Father and receive the victory. He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you. (Psalm 91:4-8). Trust in the Heavenly Father and fear no more. We have been rescued from our enemies so we can serve God without fear, in holiness and righteousness for as long as we live. (Luke 1:74-75). Remove the blinders and serve our loving God who has defeated the enemy we call fear.
