You know it is quite true, that the way to a Godly life is not an easy matter. But the answer lies in Jesus Christ, Emmanuel, God with us. As stated in (1 Timothy 3:16), Christ came to earth as a man, proven spotless and pure in His spirit. He was served by angels and preached among the nations. He was accepted by men everywhere and was received up again to His glory in heaven. Below are my favorite faith building scriptures to let us know that our heavenly Father is always their for us when in need, and that our strength and purpose lies in Jesus Christ; THE LIVING WORD!
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16). The whole bible was given to us by inspiration from God. It was given to us for discerning the truth in the Word and what is right. It is also given to us to realize what is wrong in our lives; and it straightens us out and helps us do what is right.
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12). Whatever God might say to us is full of living power. The Word is sharper that a two edged sword that cuts deep into our innermost thoughts and desires with all their parts, exposing us for what we really are.
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26). When Jesus made the remark to His disciples that it is almost impossible for a rich man to get into the Kingdom of Heaven, this confounded the disciples and they asked; "who in the world can be saved?" Jesus answered them saying; "Humanly speaking, no one. But with God, everything is possible."
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16). Perhaps one of the most important scriptures in the bible. God loved the world and His children so much, that He gave His only begotten Son, so that "anyone" who "believes" in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. Can you even imagine how great of a promise from God this is? Eternal life in the Kingdom of God right here on earth. Wow! What a awesome Heavenly Father we have.
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. (John 14:13). You can ask for anything of the Heavenly Father in Jesus name, and He will do it, for this will bring praise to the Heavenly Father because of what I, the Son, will do for you. This refers to good things of the spirit, not material things we do not need.
Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. (Matthew 18:19-20). Jesus tells us that if two of us agree down here on earth concerning anything we ask for, the Heavenly Father will do it for us. (Again we are speaking of things of the spirit, or things that will be in God's will to further the Word). Also, "Christ tells us that where two or three gather together because they are believers in Him; He will be right there among them."
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue. (2 Peter 1:3). As we get to know Christ better, He will give us, through His great power, everything we need for living a truly good life. He even shares His own glory and goodness with us. So, how do we get to know Him better? Through the study of the Word. "Christ is the living Word."
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. (1 Corinthians 10:13). Always remember this, the wrong desires that may come into your life aren't anything new or different. Many others have faced the same problem as yours, and no temptation is irresistible. You can trust your heavenly Father to keep the temptation from becoming so strong that you cannot stand against it. The best part is that our Heavenly Father will always show you a way out.
Keep The Faith,Barton
